International removals from West London to Cyprus

Cyprus is a retirement-and-sunshine route as much as a working one. Plenty of the West London households we move out are heading for a place near Paphos or the Limassol coast — a mix of full relocations, second homes being furnished, and families with long Cypriot ties going back. The strong UK connection makes it a familiar move: they drive on the left, English is widely spoken, and the paperwork, while real, is manageable.

Road + sea

Lorry to a Mediterranean port, then a sea leg into Limassol — the usual island routing.

Part-load / groupage

Shared space on the Cyprus run for a flat, a partial move, or a holiday home.

Storage in between

Not ready at the far end? We can hold your things in secure storage at our West London base and ship when the timing works.

Because Cyprus is an island, the shipment travels by road to a Mediterranean port and then by sea into Limassol. Since Brexit it is an EU import, so a genuine relocation runs on the transfer-of-residence relief and a proper inventory.

Getting to an island: the routing

We collect across west London, consolidate at Acton, and run the goods by road to a Mediterranean port before the sea leg into Limassol, the island’s main commercial port. From there it is a short island hop to Paphos in the west, Larnaca on the coast, or Nicosia inland. The sea leg is what makes a Cyprus move a little longer than a French or German one — we are honest about that in the plan rather than promising a date the shipping line controls.

For a holiday home or a partial move, a part-load — your goods sharing space on the Cyprus run — usually makes far more sense than a whole container. A full permanent relocation may justify sole use. We will tell you which suits your volume.

  • Road to a Med port, then sea into Limassol
  • Island delivery to Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia and the coast
  • Part-load for holiday homes and partial moves
  • EU transfer-of-residence relief on used effects, against an inventory

Customs and the transfer of residence

A move to Cyprus is now an EU import. For someone relocating, used household and personal effects can generally come in without import duty and VAT under the transfer-of-residence provisions, provided you have owned and used them and the inventory and declaration are right. We prepare the detailed inventory and the transit paperwork and work with an agent in Cyprus for the port formalities.

A second home is treated differently from a primary relocation, so be straight with us about which this is — it changes the customs story. Getting the declaration honest and accurate is what keeps your shipment moving through Limassol rather than sitting on the quay.

Packing for the Mediterranean

A Cyprus move crosses a warm sea and is handled at two ports, so we export-wrap furniture, protect upholstery, and box fragile items in proper export cartons. Villas and low-rise apartments make for kinder access than a London mansion block, but rural addresses and unmade tracks near Paphos have their own challenges — tell us about the far end and we plan the final delivery accordingly.

We collect right across west London — Acton, Chiswick, Ealing, Shepherd’s Bush and out to Brentford — as well as the wider west, south-west and north-west London catchment. Everything is packed and consolidated at our Acton base before it leaves the country.

Common questions

Moving from West London to Cyprus

How does a move to Cyprus actually travel?

By road from our Acton base to a Mediterranean port, then by sea into Limassol, and on by road to Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia or the coast. The sea leg makes it a little longer than a mainland-Europe move, which we build honestly into the plan.

Is a part-load worth it for a holiday home?

Usually, yes. Furnishing a second home or making a partial move rarely fills a container, so sharing space on the Cyprus run is the sensible choice. A full permanent relocation may justify sole use — we advise based on your actual volume.

Do I pay duty moving to Cyprus?

For a genuine relocation, used household effects generally enter without import duty and VAT under the EU transfer-of-residence provisions, against a proper inventory and declaration. A second home is treated differently, so tell us which applies so we declare it correctly.

Do you deliver to rural addresses near Paphos?

We do. Rural Cyprus can mean narrow lanes and unmade tracks, so we ask about access at the far end and plan the final delivery — sometimes with a smaller vehicle for the last stretch — rather than being caught out on the day.

Can you store my things before the move?

Yes. If your Cyprus property is not ready, we can hold your belongings in secure storage at our West London base and ship them out when the timing works, rather than you rushing the move to fit the completion date.
